Two Dewberry designers for FreeSpirit - can it be true?!

Yes! We are pleased to welcome Donna Dewberry to Westminster Fibers as a designer for FreeSpirit.

Donna Dewberry, inventor of the One Stroke ™ Painting Technique, has a long standing career in the crafts industry and is reknowned worldwide. In addition to her One Stroke ™ Painting Technique, Donna has licensed her ideas for production in home decor products , giftware, and fabric. She's made regular television appearances and is a columnist for several craft publications.

Donna has two new fabric collections coming out this Spring, check out a sneak peek below. Roses and Daisies are printed 100% cotton, 44/45" width.

Also with a new FreeSpirit fabric collection for Spring 2008 is Joel Dewberry (Donna's son). Joel was introduced early on to expressing creativity through artistic means. Joel launched his own textiles brand, Joel Dewberry Eclectic Modern in 2007, and is thrilled to show his passion for design on fabric.

Joel's 3 lines - Aviary, Chestnut Hill and Manzanita, under the Westminster Fibers brand were hugely successful. Joel's new collection for FreeSpirit, Ginseng, is a home decor weight fabric - printed on cotton sateen, 55/56" width, will be available May 2008.

MJ Booties by Tina Givens

Something to come soon... When I was pregnant with my twins... I made all sorts of things for them including hats and booties; their blankets and clothes... I knew they were going to be somewhat premature... (they were 2 months early) so I knew they'd be small... and they were, whew. They're now 5 and tall (they are both going to be tall people and tower over little me)... and when ever I see little booties I go crazy. Now I create lovely patterns for babies everywhere, not just for mine! I even have a series of Bootie stationery... very popular booties for birth announcements and notecards... Anyway I digress....
These little gems, I call MJ Booties (Ahhh that would be Mary-Jane Booties)... The pattern is easy and my objective was to make them without looking home-made... they are soft and even have a foundation in the sole for shape. The fabric here is from new Annabella in Rachael colorways, the black and white fabric is called VENICE. I love it with the Bliss in its pinks and dark chocolates (used as the lining), and the sole (which you unfortunately can't see, is an acqua blue colorway for a new fabric called Mila. This pattern is going to be available for sale shortly. Debuting in Portland Oregon in May. Wait 'til you see the matching, adorable brimmed sun hat for babies. This aint your average baby hat people....
