A New Shop with a GREAT Giveaway! GIVEAWAY CLOSED

If you live in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area or are looking for a day trip, a new shop that has just opened, Karen Gray Design, is an exclusive Westminster Fibers shop. It's a gorgeous store including FreeSpirit along with Rowan designers. Fabric currently in the shop includes ~ Heather Bailey's Fresh Cut & Pop Garden, Amy Butler's Midwest Modern 1 & 2 + Daisy Chain, Heather Ross - Mendocino, West Hill, and some Lightening Bugs, Joel Dewberry, Jay McCarroll, Kaffe Fassett, Tanya Whelan, Anna Maria Horner, Dena Designs, Valori Wells, Felicity Miller, Denyse Schmidt, and Jennifer Paganelli. Shew! And there is always more to come! She also carries sewing patterns - Amy Butler, Heather Bailey, Valori Wells, and Anna Marie Horner and books too. She also sells Amy Butler's Sweet Life bags. In addition to the many things listed above, she also has ready made goods available for sale - pillows, sachets, belts, etc - these are things produced by other independent designers in the US. She has plans to have some garments produced (samples) for both women and children with the idea that her customers can "design their own" by selecting the fabrics and then she will have a team of skilled sewers in place. This is a great addition to the town and should attract many eager sewers from all over!
In addition to telling you about this great new store, Karen provided us with a fabulous giveaway of a quilt that she has made. It includes a variety of of designers and the quilt really shows how you can piece together prints from different collections. So comment away (leaving your e-mail address for contact) and we will randomly select one winner for this amazing quilt!

Karen's store is located at the address below, so if you get the chance to visit, you will not be disappointed!

Sew News Article

Tanya Whelan informed me that in the new issue of Sew News Magazine several of our designers were featured in an article "Life by Design" by Linda Lee. It is a great article that shows how our designers are taking not only the quilting market by storm, but also are showing the market that they can create patterns, clothing and handbags with their fabrics as well. It's a great article and magazine, so you should definitely grab a copy for yourself! Enjoy

More Additions to FreeSpirit

The FreeSpirit brand is constantly expanding, and that includes having a wide range of fabrics. We are proud to introduce two of our newest additions! One being Laminated Fabric and the other being Double-Face Quilted fabric. Below is the Laminated Fabric in Anna Maria Horner's prints. Soon, we will have Laminated Fabric with many other designer's prints as well. She also incorporated the Laminated fabric into a bag she made with her Good Folks collection. The Laminated Fabric is very easy to sew with and you can also iron on the back side. This is great for bags, place mats, tablecloths and many more projects.

Below is our Double-Face Quilted fabric. The top one is from Tina Given's collection and the bottom is from Erin McMorris's collection. You can see the top and bottom displayed and how well they go together. Anna Maria Horner and Tanya Whelan also have their designs on the Double-Faced Quilted, and again, more designers will soon be added to the list. This is a great way to put together a simple quilt where you don't have to worry about having it quilted; throw some binding on it and you have a great quilt. This can be used for many more projects as well.
