Quilters, It's Almost Time to Celebrate World Wide Quilting Day, March 16!

Get ready! Saturday is Worldwide Quilting Day, #WWQuiltDay, a day for people around the globe to celebrate the art of quilt making. Coinciding with National Quilting Day in the United States, an event that has been commemorated on the third Saturday in March since 1991, Worldwide Quilting Day (Twitter #WWQuiltDay) is being celebrated by you and the quilt industry with a variety of celebrations, special classes, charity drives, demonstrations, and a special quilting marathon: The Seven Summits Strip Quilt Challenge.

The Seven Summits Strip Quilt Challenge is asking you and your quilt shop to make as many strip quilts as possible in a single day, March 16! Simply piece together strips of fabric to make strip-quilt tops. Count every inch of fabric sewn together by you and your quilt shop, with the overall global goal of piecing together enough fabric to reach the peak of one of the Seven Summits.
For more information about how you too can celebrate Worldwide Quilting Day 2013, visit the website at www.worldwidequiltingday.com.
