October is nearing it's end, let's give you some Kathy Davis fabric to enjoy!
We hope you enjoyed the closet organizing accessories in the Kathy Davis post. Kathy Davis is one of the top greeting card artists for American Greetings. Much like her fabric, her cards also are beautiful water color paintings with words of inspiration and joy. Now we'd like to "scatter joy" which is Kathy's signature style. Do you use your sewing to scatter joy whether as a gift for a friend or family or as a charitable endeavor? Perhaps your sewing and quilting is your little joyful secret! Tell us about the joy you scatter of feel when you sew or quilt. Six random commentators will be chosen at random to receive six, 1 yard cuts of one of Kathy's fabric collections. Winners will be announced on Monday. We can't wait to read your joyful musings!

I'd love to scatter some joy with Kathy's fabric.
I find 'joy' in making charity quilts - wrapping someone in love and hugs.
There is nothing better than taking a piece of fabric and turning it into a special gift for someone and seeing their face light up when they get it. That is pure joy!
What beautiful fabrics - Through the years all the different crafts I have done end up somewhere displayed in friends houses - there was the watercolour period, then the mosaics , then the quilting, wall hangings , stitcheries and quilts. It's kinda fun going to their houses and seeing stuff I have given them over the years. Like seeing old friends again! They always enjoy getting them for birthdays or christmas as most of them are not crafty at all and I enjoy giving something I have handmade with love.
I always sew for myself because I find great patterns, then I end up giving it all away when family and friends see it and want it. But it feels good to do that.
I think I get more joy out of sewing and quilting and just making things than even the recipient gets from receiving whatever it is I've made.
I love to make quilts for my family. And lately I've been making donation quilts for my quilt group. We're making lap quilts for folks in the meals-on-wheels program. So I get the pleasure of creating & sewing and someone else gets the pleasure of cuddling under a warm quilt. Thanks.
Each quilt for me is a labor of love towards the person I'm creating it for or a prayer in motion for the charitable foundation it will go to.
I love to do it all, taking a pile of quilts to the local women's shelter is always inspiring, they are so happy to be able to wrap the children in quilts and warmth. I like to make wall hangings for friends and family that match their personalities or interests, and it feels so good to just give a quilt to someone who really loves it. Thanks.
Seems like all quilters spread the joy of quilting to all of their friends, family, and charities. I love to make small wall hangings and also useful items like purses and totes. I also do childrens quilts for a few charities. I've yet to do a QOV quilt, but have that on my to do list. Quilting is a wonderful creative outlet and it brings me just as much joy to make as it does to give it away. Thanks for the opportunity to win such great fabric!
Sewing is a way for me to relax and forget about everything else that is happening in my life. I don't just love it, I NEED it!
I just love making them and then seeing the reaction when I give one to someone speacial - joy, pure joy!!
I love to make quilts for family members and the plan is to eventually make everyone a quilt. I have also made quilts for different charity causes. There is no point having a talent if you can't use it and share it with others :)
Her fabrics are fabulously fun! Thanks! christina112358 at gmail dot com

I`m glad when seeing their faces when Igive them something.
I love to spread my love of family and friends by sewing special gifts all year long for them. I occasionally sew for myself but find greater joy in sewing for others.
I like to share my love of family and friends by sewing gifts for them. I occasionally sew for myself but find greater joy in sewing for others.
I make quilts for a women's shelter.
I am a beginner sewer, so anything I complete that looks remotely like it's supposed to look is a joy to me! Happy Halloween everybody!
I am currently quilting a charity quilt! It is a great way to give back!
I discovered Kathy Davis fabrics about a year ago and love her style and designs!! Every time that I am starting to work on a new project, my husband never fails to ask me, "Who are you making that for?" My pleasure is creating quilted items for people as gifts and surprises!!
I truly find joy in creating things for friends and family. Whether it's a pillow case, or a little girl's skirt/dress, or simply sharing a fabric bundle with a fellow sewer, I find joy in owning pretty fabrics to create! Thank you!
Beautiful fabrics! I always find joy in making something to give as a gift. Not only do I have the fun of making it but to see the look on the recipient's face when they know you have taken the time to make something just for them gives me joy.
I love to make gifts for my family and friends. It is so nice to be able to tailor a gift to the recipient's taste! Thanks for the chance to win!
I find great joy in by making baby quilts for all the newest additions to our family and friends. I've made a lot of baby quilts this year! Lately, I've been making some baby quilts for foster kids. Of course nothing makes me happier than sewing for my husband and sons.
Thanks for the chance!
Everything about quilting is joyful to me. From the designing, piecing, quilting, and especially the giving away part.
I love to make things for other people! chickadeejess@hotmail.com
I think I have started scattering joy to friends and family, and I'm excited about Christmas coming up because it gives me a chance to make more gifts for people!
Those blossoms are awesome. I love to share things that I sew. Right now I am making a Christening Dress for my sister's granddaughther using her wedding gown, which itself was made by our mother. I'm making a QOV for my brother and have made and donated both quilts and afghans for hospital patients. I can't forget to mention the doll clothes I get to make for my grandnieces. That's so much fun. I don't know what I would do without sewing and my other crafts.
Sewing and quilting is a joy in itself; as appealing to my senses as the aroma of bread baking, or a tempting apple pie.
Oh this is kinda funny timing! Just yesterday I saw a table runner that I had made for a friend in use at her house for the first time since I gave it to her (first time I'd been to her house since then too!) and it just thrilled me to bits to see it in action and her enjoying it!
Have you ever met a grumpy quilter? me either! Quilters are givers, they love sharing themselves and their craft. They spend so much time giving to others whether it's a charity or a blanket for a new baby in the family or a friends new grand baby. We scatter joy where ever we go. When we all get together it's one big happy fest! It's good for our souls and for those we come in contact with... Quilting just gives so much to the world!
I find joy in beautiful fabrics made into fun but useful gifts. Quilts, handbags, wallets, clothes, home dec items are so much fun with beautiful fabrics!
I love to quilt and sew for my family and friends, but I also enjoy making things for children through charities such as Project Linus and ConKerr Cancer. I feel that this is one way I can help a child through difficult times.
Gorgeous fabrics. I never keep anything I make,,it's always gifted to someone else. It's like I'm giving them hugs that they can keep with them.
Sewing gives more joy and giving what i sew as gifts to loved ones gives me even more joy.
My joy is in the creating and giving of gifts
When I was a little girl, my grandmother would give me a quilt each year for my birthday. My mom then gave me quilts at Christmas. I now like to give someone a quilt because I know they will treasure it as I have treasured mine.
My kids say..."sewing + mommy = happy mommy!" Creating is a joy.
Such beautiful fabrics. Over the years I have made many things for people that have become heirlooms including things like our christmas stockings, the children get so excited to see them every year.

I have rarely sewn anything for myself. Everything I've made since I started sewing again (and machine embroidery and quilting recently) has always been a gift for someone whether it was a gift for an occasion like a birthday or not. I love making things for others.
I love to spread the joy of love with my family. I also seem to have lots of joy laying around in boxes filled with scraps or yards of fabric. Sometimes I even amaze myself when looking for a special color and discover fabric that I have forgotten about. That means I can now make another lap quilt, just in time for a present for a loved one. I really enjoy my time with you and learning so much from your blog. Thank you for a wonderful opportunity to win. I need to hide more fabric and forget about it and then re-discover it all over again.

Most of the quilts I make are given away, because I have been blessed with an abundance. Giving is a joyful experience!
not many of my friends sew, so I make them handstitched gifts (small or large) to bring them joy.
Quilting brings me joy...just the fun of choosing colors and seeing a finished quilt...but the real joy is giving it away! It's a win-win kind of joy!
I love to see the joy in my childrens faces when I make them a new quilt.
I love making quilts for other people and also for my own home.
My sister and I sew gifts for others - family and friends. We get around to ourselves...eventually...
I use a longarm sewing machine to bring happiness to my mother, sister and daughters by quitting their projects.
I love to scatter joy through sending cards. And, as a card artist, I like to include fabrics to the card or envelope. I simply can't send a plain envelope! Kathy's fabrics are gorgeous, as is her art and would be a lovely addition! Thanks for the opportunity!
Best,
Jeanette
I scattered joy by making a queen sized quilt using Kathy's Blossoming fabrics and sent it to my friend who was recovering from a car accident! It brightened up her recovery!
I love to scatter joy by making a quilt for a special charity or a friend
