The Last Day of our Spring Celebration . . . One Last Chance Comment to Win!

This is our last day of celebrating the beginning of Spring. Karen at Birdsong Cabin is the winner of our Day 3 Giveaway, six one yard cuts of Classica by Annette Tatum!

Rowan Farmington by Martha Negley

Last but not least, we want to again talk about our sister brand Rowan and the beautiful prints in Farmington by Martha Negley, 33, 100% cotton SKUs available now. According to Martha, her father's family was from Farmington, Illinois. This new collection is inspired by that small town and, in a way, his memory. Herringbone brick paths, iron gates, crabapple trees, spring flowers and the feathers for the fly fishing enthusiasm he passed on to her

Farmington says Spring all over with its beautiful flowers and very usable all over prints.  To get your creativity started, make this table runner using her Crocus and Iron Gate prints.

To add a little Farmington to your life, tell us about your home town and how it inspires your creativity, much like Farmington, IL inspired Martha. Comment today only and we will select one random winner to receive six, one yard cuts of Martha's Farmington.

I live in Allentown, PA, which had the most wonderful park system. Just take a walk there and you'll be inspired by the flowers, trees, streams, etc. Kathie L in Allentown

I grew up on a farm near St. Johns, Michigan. My mother's beautiful flower and vegetable gardens are still an inspiration for me.

I've moved around a lot and don't consider any one place my hometown. I guess that inspires my creativity because I can pull memories from everywhere I've lived and incorporate them into the fabrics and styles I choose. For example, when I sew with fabric that has a magnolia print, it reminds me of the summer I spent in Savannah, Georgia.

On a related note, does anyone know where I can find Farmington online? I've been searching for a few weeks now to no avail. I don't have a quilt shop nearby, so online shopping is my only hope!

Growing up in Pasadena, California, I was exposed to arts and crafts at an early age. We took classes in clay and watercolor at the museum, and fell in love with the craftsman-style buildings and houses. I love this fabric line by Martha. My husband is a fly fisherman too - the feathers print is wonderful. :-)

I live on the plains of Colorado and spring is such a contrast of color, ranging from the bright green wheat fields to the pale gold grasses. Inspiration isn't hard to come by when walking in early morning and seeing the plains come alive with color.

My hometown is in IL, like Martha's. Small farming community. When I bring the kids over, I am inspired by the settings to take lots of photos. All the sounds are calming. Bird songs, frogs singing, wind going through the grass & wind chimes. It's so relaxing and all the flowers are so beautiful I try to get lots of pictures of them.

my hometown is albuquerque, NM, and the sparse desert landscape usually inspires my sense of using negative space with pops of color to punctuate it, and the desert proportions.
love this line!

I live in a small town called Rochechouart in France. It's a very pretty little town and I love to sit at one of the cafes and people watch. Thanks for the giveaway.

I grew up in a small town on the high prairie of the Texas Panhandle. Because of the higher altitude and flat landscape, the sky was BIG, and the sunsets were amazing, and there were no trees to block your view. I often think about those big clouds and blue skies.

These colors are so fresh and vibrant -- they just seem to 'will' Spring to come! Here in Chicago, 'though, I think it's already Summer! But when we do have a Spring, it's luscious. The lake is a beautiful hue, the sky is reflected in it, looking like something that goes on forever. The clouds are white and puffy, with yellow sun outlining them. The crocuses and daffodils, always the first to come out, are along every sidewalk, downtown and in the outlying burgs. You can even feel the buzz as people come out of their holes after a hard winter. It makes me just want to roll around in crisp fabric and bright colors. (wrybbunz@gmail.com)

I am originally from the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. As I was looking at these fabrics, they brought back memories of all the fruit trees in bloom in early spring. All the hills were awash with pinks and whites. The geese and water fowl have arrived back starting their little families. So much color and it was all accentuated by the clear blue lakes in the area. Thanks for the memories!

Oh my! They just get prettier and prettier by the day! I love the tree blossoms. That would make an adorable apron for my daughter (she's 8). She loves wearing aprons and working in the kitchen with me. Happy Spring everyone (even though it's snowing here, which is very odd).

I lived near to a waterfall in my hometown. The sounds of the waterfall and the color of the nature inspired me. Thanks...

Beautiful fabrics again!! I live in Manitouwadge, Ontario Canada - it is a small, remote community north of Lake Superior. I am inspired by the beauty of nature in our 'backyard' and by a connection with the quilting world via the internet (did I say we were remote? hehe)

I grew up in the outskirts of Bakersfield. It definitely inspires me to be outdoors and seek out nature even though we leave in a big city now.

I grew up in Portland, OR. Everything was alive and feeding off the moisture. Also spent my summers at Girl Scout camp in Washington state. Life was abundant in these two places. Creativity sparked everywhere. The water helped fuel it.

I grew up in a small town in the north of Sweden, with more trees than people. I have since lived in several places in Sweden, from north to the far south, and then in England, starting in Croydon, Plymouth, then midlands and the far north Orkney islands, and at the moment Inverness.

My inspiration comes from nature, I love taking pictures of tree bark, leaves, flowers, clouds, sunset and sunrise, and any wild animals I come across.

That fabric with feathers is just stunning! I love lifelike patterns and art:)

I am from Saugus CA originally but now reside in Orange CA. Growing up we always had a beautiful garden. My dad kept the yard lush with growing things. Now that I am married and living in an apartment I miss the flowers. I love roses especially (my middle name is Rose, after my grandmother). I am currently working on a quilt for a friend and there are some pineapple blocks that were made to resemble roses.

I'm lucky to live in a valley with many micro-climates. It is beautiful all year round and inspiring. My local quilt store specializes in "helping" with all phases of a project.

My city (Newton, MA) is full of creative people and ideas ... there is always something new for inspiration if you keep your eyes and ears open!

Our neighboring town had a quilt festival last week that definitely was inspirational. We live on a farm, and the colors of nature inspire us in our selection of quilt fabrics and designs. Thanks for the chance. Martha N's fabric collection is very pretty.

My home town is nothing special, but I love that feather fabric!

Love that table runner, and I'm not much of a "feather" person, but that feather print is pretty spectacular!

I left my home town 16 years ago and have hardly been back! It's not the nicest place in the world! However where I live now inspires me daily, near to the sea, moors and hills. I am inspired by seeing beauty in nature on a daily basis.

I live in SoCal. I was born and grew up in Long Beach, a very open and creative city. I now live in Murrieta, and I'm surrounded by light and nature. Wonderful for creativity.

My hometown is a small rural town in Alabama. I haven't lived there in many, many years but almost my entire family still does so I visit frequently. I suppose my desire to create things by sewing goes back to both grandmothers, no longer living, who quilted and did other sewing. Luckily for me, I have some of their handiwork passed down. thanks for chance to win (marshudson at comcast dot net)

I don't think of myself as having a home town since I grew up moving frequently. I believe that variety of experience is what enhanced my creativity.

We have spring time the whole year so...I LOVE it! the spring means flowers...long walks...garden BBQ...dresses...sandals...color color and color!

I live near Washington, DC. People aren't too nice here, so it inspires me to spend more time creating indoors alone. Sad, but true.

My hometown is located in the suburbs of Chicago, but oh, how I wanted to be a country girl growing up! Maybe that's why I am so drawn to Martha Negley prints; so wonderfully vibrant and colorful...I wish my garden looked like the flowers in her prints!

I love the feathers - the fabric makes me think of the birds returning to this area and the song of our state bird, the meadowlark.

My hometown has lush green fields, trees and lots of land. I'm always inspired by farming lands and salt of the earth people. Great fabrics!

I live in the south and it inspires me with all of the beautiful flowering trees and plants to make quilts that are bright and cheerful.

Upstate NY. "The Core of Apple Country" is on the sign as you drive into my home town. Not only was my town full of apple trees but also the home of cherry trees, peaches, blueberries... All of which have nice early and fragrant blossoms. Combine that with early blooming bulbs in contrasting colors and you have a feast of inspiration!

I grew up in a little village in the middle of the country. Everyone knew everyone else. There were many community events that everyone went to. The one thing that inspired me was my grandmothers cooking and my aunts sewing as there were no shops.

I grew up waaay outside of town (Saratoga, NY) where our next door neighbors were... cows! But spring was always so wonderful with iris, bleeding hearts, peonies and primroses in Mom's garden. I loved seeing (and hearing) the red wing blackbirds setting up their territories around the pond and the spring peepers serenading the warmer weather... My heart still belongs in the country.

I have lived in the south all my life and was taught all sorts of thread work from an early age, at my aunt's knee. Mother could sew, but she really disliked doing it - it was a necessity to keep 4 girls in clothes! Once I learned how to make garments, I made clothes for the family and my mother gladly gave up the sewing machine. I love to create beautiful floral quilts based on the flowers found in the south.
