«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 473 Newer› Newest»My little loves the black keys!
My kids also watch Miranda Sings, and reenact them for me.
I also enjoyed plenty of wine at my wedding!
Lovely fabric, thanks for the chance to win some.
I got an A one time! 😉 And i love all your designs!
I've started making my own stamps and hand printing my own fabric. Very basic, will help me with a low volume quilt I want to make. As I don't like much low volume available locally.
I'm loving making my own fabric.
Oh I love Radiohead too!
Very hot, verrry strong, black coffee powers me all day!
Oh I can certainly relate to 2, 3, 6, and 7! I would often spend my lunch break in my art classroom at school. Potato printing is fun! I made my own curtains that way in the 90's. I have no idea how I'd survive now without black coffee and good music. The Black Keys are touring here this month and I'm missing out! :-(
My final high school art project was a large batik piece...sort of similar.
Black coffee every morning!!
I printed with potatoes to make some fabric for Home Economics class and I also drank lots of wine at my wedding too 😊
Lovely to find out more about someone I admire. So,let me see - I was born in July (22nd not the 31st, and here in Australia it would have been freezing cold as its Winter during that part of the year for us); and I got an A once, not for Art but most probably for English which was my favourite subject.
I did potato stamp prints in high school, amongst other creative projects.
I love Jack White and the Black Keys and wouldn't run without them. Not that I run that much...but I do sew :)
I sadly dont share any facts with Anna Maria! None at all - not even a coffee drinker! I am a big fan though. Wonderful giveaway thank you mlv 263 (at) hotmail (dot) com
How fun! I, too, was too young to drink at my wedding, and I love Ben Harper!
Thanks for sharing!
I love painting fabric. Although I did not turn any in for an art project. Hope this counts.
Thanks for sharing. I also drink black tea.
I enjoyed plenty of wine at my wedding too. But I was definitely old enough! Thanks for sharing Anna Maria!
I got an A.
I love tour fabrics,
Sónia.
I got an A.
I love your fabrics!
Sónia
Did you say Radiohead, White Stripes, Racontours, Jack White, Ben Harper, Black keys and Prince? Wow, I love all of these too. Here's a secret: when my son was about 10 years old and I was playing A LOT of Prince, he would sing, "My name is Andrew, And I am funky." He was not at all funky...
I would love some fabric from Free Spirit -- I mean, who wouldn't? And it is great to see all the coverage of the MQG this month. So inspirational!
I can't say I relate to any of these directly, but I have an uncle that was born on July 31st, my sister was born on July 30th and I've visited Chicago a few times so far. Thanks for the chance!
I also enjoyed wine at my wedding. ..I was just barely old enough to legally drink.
Wow, Radiohead, White Stripes, Racontours, Jack White, Ben Harper, Black keys and Prince! I agree -- they're all absolutely fabulous! And thanks for the wonderful coverage at MQG. It has been an inspiration month!
I drink very strong hot coffee too. Not just in the morning though, all day long. Thanks for a great giveaway and for sharing about yourself. Have a good day. (debbie at wowilikethat dot com)
I also run to Jack White and the Black Keys.
Love the fabric, thanks for the chance to win!!! I also drink a lot of very strong, very hot coffee every morning! Yum!
Those are fun facts though I don't share any - except perhaps that my daughter was born on what seemed like the hottest day if the summer! :)
Oops! I forgot to click the robot thingy!
I also drink very strong, very hot coffee every morning-yum!
Love the fabric, thanks for the opportunity to win it!
I got an A. But not in Art. 😉 I didn't find my creativity until well after college. Always felt discouraged by my art teachers growing up. Oh well! Thanks for sharing AMH!
I love very hot black coffee in the morning as well. I also love wine but did not overindulge on my wedding day - maybe because I was much older than she was! I don't have much in common, but I sure do love her fabric!
Steaming hot coffee every morning for me, just dark brown, not black :-) Lover AMH and love her fabric!!

The only fact I share is that I got an A. I drink a ton of coffee but not black. And only in my dreams have I created a fabric line, especially one based on punk hair colors. (I did recently have bright purple hair though.)
Opposites! I share none of these. Might make for an interesting conversation.
I also got an A or two I high school.
Well, I got plenty of A's in school, so there's that. And I didn't really have a wedding, but I had plenty of wine on the day I got married (eloped). Beautiful fabrics!
Super Hot, super Strong coffee is our shared indulgence
I drank lots of wine at my wedding also!
nikki_moshier @hotmail.com
I was barely old enough to drink at my wedding, but I don't drink. Lol!
Anna Maria is the best. Thanks for this giveaway!
I also enjoyed plenty of wine at my wedding. Loved your punk-inspiration story!
What gorgeous fabric! I like strong black coffee too, and I've done potato printing on fabric, but I never turned it in for a school project! :) Thanks for the chance to win this lovely fabric!
We have the same taste in music! Most of your music is on my iPod too. Thanks for sharing. Lve youpr fabric and patterns!
Sounds like we have similar taste in music :)
Alas, I don't share any of those traits! Sorry.... God bless.
ILuvTheEucharist @ aol.com
My workout music out also has the Black Keys, Radiohead & The White Stripes!! Thanks for sharing!
Coffee for me first thing too! Nothing gets done before my coffee!
I love my coffee black and drank a lot of wine at my wedding too! thanks!
I was also not old enough to drink legally at my wedding and enjoyed a good bit of champagne. And I drink way too much coffee. I love the new Folk Song collection!
If I had a running playlist (which I would have if I ran :) ) it would have many of the same artists! Also- I love fun colored hair on other people and secretly wish I was light haired so I could partake! This was such a fun read-thanks for sharing! Sarah: crjandsbj(at)netzero(dot)com
I was married before drinking age too! I live Anna Maria. She is beautiful inside and out, and we're all very lucky to have her designing such lovely things. Thank you for the chance to win!
I enjoyed plenty of wine at my wedding, too!
Besides drinking plenty of wine at my wedding I don't really share much. I drink strong coffee but with some cream. But I'm sure I share some things you haven't mentioned. :-)
Miranda Sings!! I've heard so many imitations of her at dinner too from my girls! Thanks for the awesome giveaway 😀
Coffee is a must, and like Anna Maria's mother I gave birth on the hottest day of the year in my midwestern city. And YES to inspiration in odd places! Brilliant.
The only thing I have in common with Anna Maria on this list is that I got an A before. What fun facts!!
Coffee, Prince and Art teacher. Thanks so much for sharing, Anna Maria!
I too drink very strong, very black coffee...but not just in the mornings!
Hi, Anna Maria! We are both July babies - mine's the 21st! Love your fabrics and am finishing up a quilt with the Pretty Potent line!
How fun!
I, too, was too young to drink when I got married...and I love Ben Harper!
Thanks for sharing!
Chicago is a great city! Nice pick for a birthplace.
I can totally relate to facts 7,8, and 10. You might as well be talking about me!
I wasn't old enough to drink at my wedding either.
I must have my coffee!!!
Fun!! We share the same taste in music. :)
#8 Married when I was twenty!
Love the fabric! You are my favorite!
I love number 2! I'm such a rule follower and I so admire Anna's guts and creativity. I do not share anything on the list but I love her fabric. Thanks for the chance to win!
Very strong black coffee in the morning for me too. I did make fabric for an art project in high school, and did use potatoes to carve as printing blocks, but I used a lot of resists and dyes too.
I also enjoyed plenty of wine at my wedding. I was of legal age, though!
My sister was born on July 31! Does that count? So was Harry Potter. Wonderful day to be born 😄 i may not have much in common with these ten facts... But I love how Anna Maria incorporates her family in what she loves to do. So inspiring.
I have a deep love for varied fabrics as well!
I'm not old enough to drink but enjoy plenty of wine as well ;) Folk song is so dreamy, AMH <3
I was it old enough to drunk at my wedding either. Mimiomimi
Couldn't say I've ever based a colourway of a fabric line on the hair colours of strangers, but I love that fact! The closest I can come to sharing one of these facts is that I got an A in art class.
I used to do the coffee thing until the doctor made me stop. very strong, black, GOOD coffee :-)
Anna Maria have both gotten A's! (Actually, I got a lot of them being an honor student in high school.) My mom always said I was born on the hottest day ever as a July baby in Iowa. Also, I love steaming hot, black, strong coffee in the morning! Let's be friends, Anna!
I drink tea, have a few degrees in linguistics, got married at 31 and listen to indie female singer songwriters, but Anna Maria Horner's Good Folks collection is what got me excited about quilting seven years ago. And each and every collection she creates makes me happy.
I wish I had painted fabric with potatoes in high school, but I have to go with the coffee as well. Every morning. And afternoon. 😉
Wow! It looks like the only thing I share with her is the love of her fabric!
I don't share any of those facts, but I was not old enough to drink at my proposal dinner and still had a glass of wine and a (very small) glass of brandy with dessert!
Love the story about high school art class/grade/teacher!
I got an A too....although not for the same reason as Anna. :)
You share your birthday with my dear Grama and very hot, very black coffee is also my every morning go to! :)
I like running! Does that count :) and I love her fabric so that's two!
Miranda Sings videos are reenacted regularly by my children too.
Nini~
Miranda Sings videos are a fave of my kids too!
Nini~
love coffee but probably not every morning!
I gave birth on a day in July that was one of the hottest on record in Washington DC, that's pretty close to the one about the day you were born, right? Oooh the thought of your gorgeous fabric is so very enticing!
I too drank a lot of wine at my wedding, does that count?
Thanks for sharing Anna Maria!
I'm with you on 6, 7 (well, except for the running part), and 9.
I always love getting glimpses into your life - it seems so interesting.
I also drink very hot black strong coffee every morning, and I also was born in July in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, on what I'm sure was a very hot day, and I also enjoyed - oops! I mean enjoy wine pretty much daily! Fun contest! Keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you Anna Maria!
Hi. I drink coffee every morning but it's not what anyone would call strong!!
When I got married, if I lived in the US I wouldn't have been old enough to drink alcohol either. Lol. Thanks for sharing yourself so generously Anna Maria
I love strong hot black coffee every morning, too! I drink plenty of wine at everyone else's weddings - does that count?!
My Ipod has similar music for exercise.
I got As in art, too. And we share musical tastes. Anna Maria, you should check out The Kooks!
Nope, I don't share any of these, but I would still love to have some of her fabric in my stash!
I too have a lot of Jack white going on in my ipod, Prince too. AMH's fabric is my constant favorite!
Love Radiohead and running...and your fabrics, of course! :) CHEERS!
Hot, black coffee for me, too!
Lots of Jack White in my collection too (and White Stripes and Racontours). He is the best.
My iPod is also loaded with Ben Harper and RadioHead
I got an "A" too! Love your fun facts!
definitely share the love for very strong, very hot coffe.
thanks for sharing 😊
I used to live in Chicago so I was probably there when you were born. I'm guessing it was the same summer my son was born and boy it was a hot one. Your fabric is beautiful, Thank-you. Keep creating, even with potatoes if you want to.
I don't share anything on the list but still love your fabric and your patterns!
Well I love fact #1, and definitely share playlist on fact #7. Jack White and Prince? Yes!! Add a little Tab Benoit and you've got the total package. Thanks for your gorgeous prints.
I share #6, alway strong black coffee in the morning, the day doesn't start properly without it!
Adore fact #1! Add Tab Benoit and we share the total package playlist. You make scrumptious fabric. About to make a swoon with you. Thanks!
So fun reading little facts about an artist I admire so much! Sadly I am NOT a runner, but ditto on the very strong coffee. And though I was old enough to drink at my wedding, I recognize the same spunk that didn't hold Anna Maria back from enjoying the wine at hers!!!!
I also enjoyed plenty of wine at my wedding ;) Thanks for sharing!
Interesting to know a little more about my favourite designer:)
And it's very touching that Anna Maria still talks to her high school art teacher regularly.
Thank you, Anna Maria, for sharing your love to the colourful world with us!
I am a huge Jack White fan too! Does that count? ;-)
Thanks for sharing! Nothing in common, but dang are you inspiring!!!
I love wine and I have some fabric that my brother potato printed in high school !! loved reading these fun facts about Anna !
These are very unique facts! The closest I can come...I once made a dress from a pattern and instructions printed in a German magazine for my German language class...I got an A. Thank you!
#8 I was not of legal drinking age when I married my husband in 1972. and I gave birth to my oldest son on a hot July day in Chicago in 1975.
I also changed the rules quite a bit in school, but that was sewing class. Ended up being able to sell my apron for quite some profit!
Black, strong, very hot! That's the way I love my coffe every morning, without it I don wake properly! I listen to Black Keys and Prince to! Love your fabric....
If I was living in the US no. 8 would so be me too! We were both 'babies' when we got married...and hopefully both still have a wonderful marriage!
Sweet music collection! We share the same musical interests! And coffee... Dark, strong and HOT!
I share the love for Radiohead on my ipod for running. Otherwise I am a tea drinker and only recently got married at 39!!!
Hey! It´s the super hot and very strong coffee for me, too. Before I´m just not alive. :) And I got married at age 18 - in Germany where I Iive alcohol was not illegal :) But it´s 21 in the US, right?
I love plenty of wine at any time .....
Plenty of wine sounds good .
I also love coffee first thing, though not black, very milky : )
I was not legal to drink at my wedding either. Thanks for the very awesome giveaway!!!!! I could use the fabric badly. sonjasmith76@yahoo.com
iPod filled with much of the same music!!
Thanks f
I am only allowed one cup of coffee a day and I want it as strong as I can get it.I have been married 40 years and love him more today then I did when we got married.
gandn74@ymail.com
I got an A for my school art/textiles course too
I got an A for my school art/textiles course too
I drink very hot, very black, (but not very strong) coffee every morning, and every mid morning, and sometimes in the afternoon. I think we also have the same number of children in common (7), even though it isn't one of the 10 random facts. :).
Thanks, for sharing these, Anna Maria! I'm off to google your iPod play list, as I've never heard of most of them. :)
I also still keep in touch with my past school teachers, they are some of my very good friends!
As much as I love AMH and all her fabric...I'm darn near polar opposite of all 10 points!
Strong black coffee in the morning!
Thank you for the post! I have been reading your blog for quite a while. I love your writing and your beautiful work, which inspires me to create my own quilts.
Hm... Well, I don't drink coffee or anything warm in the morning and I live in MAINE but I do have tea almost every afternoon as a pick me up... The first song I learned to play on the guitar was The White Stripes Seven Nation Army and all those other bands help me move at Crossfit too. I watched Miranda Sings on Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Drinking Coffee, cracked me up! Isn't it fantastic how different/same all of us beautiful women can be? One thing I know I have in common with you is the love of color and fabric ;)!!!
I'm glad your art teacher was willing to encourage you thinking outside the box :-)
You and your art are inspiring!!
I also enjoyed wine at my wedding!
I too love my black coffee in the morning, was born late July during a sweltering NC summer, and love the White Stripes.
I share the coffee and too young at the wedding (my first) but drank a lot of wine at the second wedding (same guy)! Thanks for sharing!
I was also married before I was able to legally drink! That was nearly 11 years ago, and we're still going strong. Oh, and I'm loving those music choices. cornelius.jessica@gmail.com
I enjoyed plenty of wine at my wedding, too. But I was old enough for doing that :P
And I see the colors and pattern for fabric everywhere.
When My husband and I got married We weren't legally old enough to drink alcohol!! Thank you for the chance at the giveaway!!!
Never potato-printed, but I did convince my art teacher that my costume designs for the school musical could count as my senior art project!
I still talk to my HS teacher regularly! I was homeschooled, so it was my mom ;-)
I don't share ANY of these facts with Anna Maria!
We don't have any of these things in common, but I love her just the same. :)
Well, I feel sad to have so little in common with Anna Maria, but I have gotten an A on an art project before. And now I'm curious which fabric line is punk hair!
It's fun to read all of these random things. I also drink very strong coffee...but not black! I've never been able to drink black coffee. Love this fabric, by the way!
I once made a quilt instead of whatever the assignment was in art class (though not sure I got an A)
Thanks for sharing!
The only thing I have a common is getting an A:) That first fact is too fun!
Not many people get Miranda...but, thanks to my daughter, I too find myself quoting and mimicking Miranda Sings. We laugh till we split a gut.
{{* *}}
Hmmm. Nothing here. I did get married young, and although I don't drink I was at least old enough to (by two weeks)!
My youngest daughter loves Miranda Sings too. So funny! I, on the other hand, love Prince!! That music can get me motivated for anything I need to do!
Only #3... I got an A in art: History of Asian Art.
Nothing in common either but love her fabric and colors!
niothing in common but love her fabric and color choices!
I married at 19! Not legal to drink at the US! (but happily at my country I was!)
There was a lot of wine at my wedding too. I loved these facts, especially the first one.
Other than getting an "A" in art, nothing else in common, but that doesn't stop me from loving AMH designs!
Other than getting an "A" in art, nothing else in common, but that doesn't stop me from loving AMH designs!
I don't have any of these facts in common with Anna Maria, but I love her fabric!
I have a similar playlist for biking
I once sewed handmade paper together to make a kind of paper quilt as a final for an art class. I also got an A but unfortunately I don't get to talk to any of my old art teachers. I think of Anna as an art teacher
I got A's in high school art too, but not for an awesome fabric printing project. Thanks for the giveaway!
This is so fun, thanks for posting! I have Radiohead and the WhiteStrips on regular playlist rotation too :)
I wasn't old enough to drink at my wedding since I got married when I was twenty.
Well, black hot coffee every morning is a must, and my birthplace is in Illinois, but downstate, not Chicago. I love AMH fabric!
I got plenty of A's, but never in art. I always thought my art teacher hated me, but looking back, I can see that I was an abysmal artist! Now, x years later, I am still quite bad (though ever improving) but have discovered it is a wonderful thing in life to have something you are bad at but still enjoy doing!
allisonpogany@gmail.com
My husband wasn't old enough to drink at our wedding, either!
I wasn't old enough to drink at my wedding which was ok. We didn't have drinks at the wedding.
I love the music choices! My children also introduce me to things i would never know without them.....especially at dinner...good times!
Been a fan of yours from your 1st line! Love your work!
#8, seems like most of us were fairly young when we got married.
Seems like most of us got married young, myself included!
I have gotten an A, I used to pride myself on living off of Coke instead of coffe, and I have been playing with stamping with Napa Cabbage! And I love your fabric.
I drink very strong coffee and tea in the morning. I didn't use potatoes on fabric at school but my mom had us make wrapping paper with potatoes at Christmas every year. I also enjoyed lots of wine at my wedding. I enjoy the same music while working out. I wasn't born in Chicago but my dauhter was born in Chicagoon what I thought was the hottest day.
Thanks for sharing Anna Maria! You always inspire me!
I have gotten an A, I used to pride myself on having a Coke in the morning instead of coffee, and I have been stamping with Napa Cabbage.
My mornings start the same way: hot black strong coffee.
Wow, I don't think I have anything in common with AMH based on those facts, lol. The closest I come is that I was also born in the summer. Thanks for sharing, it's neat to realize that designers are real people.
What a fun post! I had plenty of wine at my wedding too, and a wonderful high school art teacher 😊
I got A, also. 24Tangent@gmail.com
I've gotten my fair share of A's, but not for being a creative genius. A's in art were always a bit elusive. I had less wine than I would have liked at my wedding.
Apparently we have nothing in common!
Katy
This was a fun little interview! I once got an A as well.
Margie
Margiedicroce(at)rogers(dot)com
While I have not designed any fabric collections, I do enjoy good strong black coffee in the morning, just like Anna Maria! :)
I too was born in July. During my honeymoon I drank more alcohol than I ever have either before or since.
Thanks for the opportunity - The fabric is lovely.
Number 6 and 8
would love to win this. I too enjoy coffee! merryorganic at gmail dot com
I share the coffee one - I drink very strong, very black, very hot black coffee every morning.
I love the other fun facts!
I also drink strong coffee. :)
I guess Anna Maria and I don't have much in common then? Haha, I don't share any of these facts... except maybe a glass or two of wine at my wedding but it was a totally legal affair at that point. Thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
What an interesting and sometimes amusing list! I almost share #8 -- even though I wasn't too young to drink alcohol at my wedding (close, though) I did marry someone named Jeff.
I got an A on an unconventional art project once too! But I did not go on to become a famous designer, so there the similarities end. ;-)
I don't share any of these facts with you, I'm afraid. but thanks for sharing
I drink hot, black coffee in the morning, drank lots of wine at my wedding and received many an A in high school, just not for art! Thanks for sharing.
Ditto on the coffee! Thank you for sharing these little glimpses of your life.
I'm close to number 5. My birthday is on July 30th.
I have stamped with potatoes before! Not on fabric, but I think it was gift wrap!
I was also too young to drink at my own wedding.
I run to the Black Keys too! That's about it...we have the same taste in fabric though!!
Melanie Ambrose
I love my strong, black coffee every morning. It's the only way to start the day!
