ReplyDeleteSpring: freshness, new beginnings, color, birdsong, sun & showers. Thank you for your generous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteSpring means I can use lighter fabrics both in weight and color for sewing garments. I also like to use more vivid colors, such as cobalt blue with purple undertones, to match spring flowers like my beloved Texas Bluebonnets popping up everywhere.
ReplyDeleteSpring sewing always gets me out of the winter doldrums. I tend to dress in black so the spring colors liven up my attitude.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Sew Daily I now know this blog exists! The voile fabrics are lovely and perfect for comfortable, feminine summer wear.
ReplyDeleteSpring is a time to pull out old things and give them a good airing!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely fabric! The butterflies are early this year, and as a life-long love of butterflies (and caterpillars), this makes me happy. With spring in full swing, I am putting away my unfinished winter garments and looking forward to starting some summer clothes in bright cheerful colors and cool fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI love warm weather and to me spring is the coming of warm weather. My garden awakens. The colorful birds return. I feel less tired and grumpy. I can't wait to get outside and enjoy the days.
ReplyDeleteSpring brings change and new sewing projects to wear and to decorate my house! Joy
ReplyDeleteSpring is a wonderful time of renewing, refreshing and rejuvenation! Rowan and FreeSpirit have capture this in their beautiful new fabrics! This is an awesome time to redo the patio cushions, or make a beautiful table runner! I would love to be given that chance with the new fabrics you are giving away.
ReplyDeleteI love Spring because the geese are flying back to spend the season with us. The leaves start budding on the trees and everything starts to look so fresh!
ReplyDeleteSpring brings change and new sewing projects to wear and to decorate my home! Joy
ReplyDeleteSpring means knitting on my patio - sewing with my studio curtains wide open and fresh spring breezes and smells blowing through my windows! I love Spring and the energy and beauty it brings!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, spring. Color abounds, people are happy, the sewing room has great natural light filling up the space. I'm thinking of some new light blouse options to wear with skinny jeans, under a cropped blazer. Fun stuff!
ReplyDeleteSpring in Seward, Alaska means SNOW! We've been shoveling out from under almost 100 inches this winter and it's not over yet. The good news is shoveling warms you up fast so to cool down when I finish, I slip into a newly sewn flirty spring dress and make a drink with at least one umbrella in it, all while watching new snow fly right outside my window!
ReplyDeleteI am new to sewing, it is my latest crafting passion, so to me, everything is like springtime. New and fresh. But as the flowers begin to emerge and the sun starts to shine and feel a little warmer, I am excited to try new patterns and fabrics. To date, since starting my sewing journey, I have made an apron, bathmat and 2 handbags for my daughter and niece. Currently I am working on another apron. Thankfully my husband sews and has given me some great tips!
ReplyDeleteSpring is time for new life. Flowers are in bloom, the farms surrounding us are alive with calves, colts, & kids.
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting in my studio in Colorado and watching it snow... I much prefer the beautiful butterfly fabric!! A quick project would be a table runner, but I think it could be a skirt, too. Thanks for the pick-me-up!
ReplyDeleteSpring is a time of renewal. Clean out the the old and bring in the new. The farms surrounding us are teaming with new life - calves, colts, and kids are playing in the pastures. Flowers are in bloom. The earth is renewing.
ReplyDeleteI love sewing in the spring. You get to use bright fabrics with different prints that pop. I love bright colors. You can use them for clothing or home dec projects to brighten up a room.
ReplyDeleteI have been getting motivated to make a skirt for my daughter now that spring is coming. I bought the fabric a year ago!

ReplyDeleteLove the new butterfly prints. I love working with bright fabrics in the spring.
ReplyDeleteSpring means I open windows both in reality and in my mind...blow out darks and mushy and return to crisp edges with a whiff of florals. Works for both home and sewing! Try it!
ReplyDeleteSpring to me has always been a time for newness and rebirth. Fresh ideas and a time to awaken the creative spirit. The lovely fabrics in this collection are the epitome of this to me. Bold, bright colors and symbols of rebirth, how completely perfect.
ReplyDeleteI can see so many projects from this fabric my head is spinning.
SPRING is a my time to REFRESH and RENEW for the year! It means sewing colorful skirts and cool blousy shirts! Sundress with patterns and florals are a must! I BLOOM LIKE A FLOWER with my SEWING MACHINE. Each garmet is like a petal on a flower! HAPPY SEWING!

riSpring is definitely ahead of schedule in Iowa! I picked two bouquets of daffodils this morning! It is great to see the yard awaken with spring surprises. I am trying to be convinced to do some raking...but is it too early? The tulips are really growing and I see some of the new bulbs I planted last fall sending out shoots for spring. All this new fabric makes me want to get busy on another quilt...I have made 5 large ones this past year plus several wall hangings etc. and now I am learning to do machine embroidery...a surprise gift from my husband! Love all things from FreeSpirit fabric. Great to see some new things but fun to see the reprints! Happy day to all, jodisews@iowatelecom.net
ReplyDeleteTo me, spring is a time of renewing, a fresh start to living after a cold and dreary winter. I love to hear the birds chirping and the bees buzzing!

ReplyDeleteFor me spring means bright happy colors are starting to come back to life everywhere, from the bulbs peaking through the dirt(my favorite are muscari) to the red breast of the robin. All great inspiration for crafting and sewing after a long dark/cold winter up here in Northern Ontario!
ReplyDeleteI love most all seasons , but spring is the best with the birds singing, the flowers blooming and the trees budding out.The wonderful glory of God shining all over the place. My favorite fabric so far is Cocoon. Thanks .
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the colors on this fabric. Just looking at a fabric can flood your brain with millions of lovely thoughts about a specific person in your life. I think spring is so amazing because it's the time when you finally realize that the holiday season has been over for about three months now and it's finally time to stop avoiding present-making and get back into it! The people you love and care about are popping into my head everyday, along with things I could make for them with the beautiful fabrics I collect. Spring is a time for skirts and kisses!
ReplyDeleteI love spring as nature comes to life and it is wonderful to watch and be part of the transformation:)X Ylva
ReplyDeleteOMG! Valori Wells -- FreeSpirit -- blue butterflies - it just doesn't get any better! I've just discovered her voiles and I'm in love with the patterns, and most of all, the fabric! It's like cotton silk, and washes like a dream. I'm sewing a number of dresses for my year-old grand daughter for the summer since it's just perfect for New Orleans weather (where she lives). I am absolutely a fan of her collections and FreeSpirit fabrics, and really hope to try out their whole fabric line.

Well today, spring means snow, again. Which includes staying inside to sew because it's too frozen outside to plant the garden :)
ReplyDeleteLooking for the pink plumeria below my lani to start blooming, adding bright color and subtle perfume to the air. It inspires a fresh, colorful look in my quilting projects.

ReplyDeleteSpring brings a renewal of my spirits. Winter is my least favorite season and I never feel really well during the dark dreary days. When Spring comes around, I feel as if I can breathe in all the sunshine to fill my body and soul.
ReplyDeleteSpring just renews my body and soul after a long, dreary winter. The sounds of spring are music to me. I love sitting on the back porch and listening to the birds. There's no better place to be.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration! Even if new fabric isn't coming our way, there is probably something "spring-y" that we can each unearth from our own personal stash...
ReplyDeleteSpring is one of my two favorite seasons, with Summer being second. All the newness and colors - so much green and blooms. It is uplifting and smile-inducing. All the birds returning from their winter homes are a real treat, too. So refreshing after the gray skies and absolute saturation of a Seattle winter!

I love the cold mornings giving way to warm afternoons. I love all the baby animals and birds flitting around. I love getting out my summer clothes all light and airy.

ReplyDeleteReally pretty fabric! I'm a purple and teal person so I especially like PWVW043.Stone. I love the smell of honeysuckle and wildflowers we started smelling the past week and am so happy to be coming out of this mild winter a little early. Happy 1st day of Spring!
ReplyDeleteSpring usually means cleaning out the flower beds, getting the mowers and weedeaters ready for use, and hay fever. But in my sewing room, spring means cotton, and linen, and bright colors and prints, capris and flirty skirts, shorts and maybe a tank top or two. Or, perhaps, some new pillows with those flowery bits and pieces that have been in the fabric drawer waiting for the perfect project.
